“Four Arias at the Edge of Darkness” bringa the mythological heritage of Rome\u2019s ancient Tiber River architectural embankment walls to life again.<\/p>\n

Rome’s “Return of the She-Wolves” Festival ran from sunset to midnight over four nights along the banks of the Tiber River between the Ponte Sisto and the Ponte Mazzini bridges. In Daniel K Brown’s work “Four Arias at the Edge of Darkness”, digital animations were projected onto the 13m high stone architectural embankment walls of the Tiber River, portraying the Roman She-Wolf witnessing the four elements of nature: Earth (stone walls), Water (ripples), Fire (sunrise), Air (moon), with the fifth element being the Spirit of the Wolf. The animations are synchronized with the architecture and the sound arias of the composition. Huge, wild and luminous eyes stare at the site, attentively observing the heritage architectural environment, while Branchi’s music takes shape from the air. Bringing the mythological heritage of Rome’s ancient architectural walls to life, the eyes of the she-wolf dance and burn, slowly fading away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
